Download the stuff from microsoft and use their tools to make a windows installer usb. e.e Įdit: good luck finding the drivers for the hardware.Īlso if you don't have a legit windows installation usb, you can make one. Try to minimize the damage you do to it, since its not your laptop.Īnd remember to change the Bios settings back (if you want to adjust boot priority) before returning it. I assume you have a legit OS setup USB (or cd), if not uhh. You don't need to activate the windows on the external drive. (or mess with the bios and change boot priority to make it launch the external drive by default) The external drive method may be best since you can get to keep the games on it as well, and just hook it up on the laptop, use Window's Boot menu (F10 during startup) to launch from the external drive. Or use a "live" os, which loads into its RAM, which I don't recommend. You can also replace the internal drive temporarily Install Windows and Steam on an external drive hooked to the laptop, launch the OS on the external drive afterward.
